Reflections of my thoughts: What you can do if your Dell laptop doesn’t show Bluetooth Device after re-installing Windows Vista?

  • Richard Wolff · 2 months ago
I have a Dell Inspiron 1520. I just upgraded to Windows 7 Professional 32-bit. I have run this patch, which opens and closes a command window (so quick i cannot see anything). Then when I try to run the Bluetooth Driver install it still has the warning dialog with Fn + F2. Anyone have any ideas?

WOW .... Windows 7 RTM code still did NOT find the Bluetooth 365 module on my Dell e4200. BUT .... running the hotfix mentioned in this thread resulted in it being found!

Worked fine on my DELL Precision M6400 Covet under Win7 64 RTM. After upgrading from Vista the bluetooth device was not found - until this great hint!

    Hi,

I am also running Windows 7 in my machine. But I hadn't installed any separate drivers other than the Microsoft provided one. uninstall your blue tooth device, connect to internet and let Windows find the best driver for you. If it doesn't work, try to get the drivers from Dell Website.

Thanks for the patch! It works on XPS 1530 with Win7 but the Bluetooth is always on, it can't be turned off.
  • Sarath · 5 days ago
Can't you use the wireless switch to turn it off. the way it should behave on on/off can be configured in your BIOS settings. Be careful while editing it.
